Addlestone language teacher wins top prize

A LANGUAGE teacher who tutors children in Addlestone has won a prestigious award in recognition of her continued excellence.

Sheila Sen, who teaches dozens of kids French, has been crowned as the La Jolie Ronde's regional licensee of the year for the London area.

The company provides French and Spanish language lessons to youngsters between the ages of three and 11 as well as supplying language resources to primary schools across the UK.

Sheila has been teaching for seven years and was chosen for the top prize after demonstrating outstanding commitment and dedication to making French fun.

She has rapidly expanded her business over the years, growing from just six pupils in her first term, to now teaching 180 students.

After finding out she had won the award, Sheila said: "I was surprised and delighted to be awarded regional licensee of the year. I feel very fortunate given there are so many other licensees doing such a great job. Working with La Jolie Ronde has been inspiring and has provided me with a great teaching tool and a wonderful support network."

Sheila was presented with her trophy by the founder of La Jolie Ronde, Colette Hallam.

The company's general manager Steve Baker said: "Sheila is an inspiration. She is a confident and experienced teacher with a thriving business and pupils. Sheila teaches in seven schools, six nurseries and one open centre and currently has 180 pupils. Sheila is supportive of any new licensee welcoming them to view her classes and is enthusiastic about teaching languages.

"Her drive and enthusiasm, and of course her love of France, pervades through her teaching."
